Have you ever wondered how plaster is installed? Maybe some energetic teenagers slipped while running down the hallway and left a very large hole in their sheetrock. Or maybe you’ve embarked on a remodeling project and just need to work on the finishing touches.

Whether you call it gypsum board or drywall, it is an essential part of interior construction. Sheetrock has been around for almost 100 years, but rose to stardom as a construction material during the 1940s.

Whether you’re overwhelmed or just doing research to determine how difficult it would be to take on the next item on your home improvement list yourself, knowing the right way to install drywall can be a great homeownership skill. With ROCKFORT CONSTRUCTION SERVICES LLC you can count on us from Monday to Saturday to provide you with the best services.

Gypsum board, also known as drywall, is used for the construction of interior wall and ceiling finishes. It is made by taking a fireproof gypsum core and covering it with a smooth finish paper on the face and a natural finish paper on the reverse. Drywall requires hand finishing only on fasteners, usually drywall screws.
